Citrus juicer buying guide: choosing a manual lever press

For a home kitchen, a café counter or a pomegranate juice stand, the right Maskot press depends on a handful of questions. Here they are, answered one by one.

Household or commercial?

Buy a household juicer for everyday use at home or as a gift, and a commercial juicer for a business: hotels, restaurants, cafés, kiosks, patisseries, juice bars and caterers.

The household models are more compact and lighter, and come in six series (Klasik, Form, Riva, Mega, Slim and Yonca) with several finishes each. The commercial models have heavier bodies for counters that press fruit all day. Both are manual lever presses; Maskot makes no electric juicers.

Pressing speed depends on the person and the fruit, so we don’t publish capacity figures. The table below compares the two ranges using the data in the 2025 catalogue.

Weight, box size and carton quantity are the boxed values from the 2025 catalogue. The commercial column excludes the can opener and pineapple cutter.

Which fruit can you press, and which model for pomegranates?

Maskot juicers press oranges, pomegranates, grapefruit, mandarins and lemons. Every model handles pomegranates, but if you press them regularly we recommend the cast commercial series (PCA1) or the Jumbo series (PJ1).

The cast series has the deepest bowl in the range at 50 mm and a weighted body that resists tipping under the lever. Jumbo has a 125 mm strainer, the widest Maskot makes, so large pomegranates and grapefruit sit comfortably in it.

Materials and finishes

You don’t have to choose a material: on every model the parts that touch fruit are 304 stainless steel, and the body is cast zinc alloy or aluminium.

Finishes are chrome, gold, rose gold, sapphire, copper and coloured, all made by Maskot. The different finishes of a model share the same pressing mechanism, so pick the one that suits your kitchen or venue.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes. The removable parts that touch the fruit are dishwasher safe.

Which parts come off depends on the model: on the commercial Classic it is the bowl and strainer, and the household Classic adds a 680 ml stainless cup.

Does it need to be fixed to the counter?

No. Maskot juicers stand freely on the worktop; the industrial can opener is the only Maskot product that is fixed in place.

Set the juicer down and use it, with no screws, clamps or drilling. The can opener, by contrast, is held to the edge of the worktop with a screw clamp.

Warranty, spare parts and repairs

Every Maskot product has a 5-year warranty: the 2-year statutory warranty plus 3 extra years from Maskot.

Spares are available for every part, including strainers, handles and bowls, so a worn part never means a new juicer. We also repair units that are out of warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Which citrus juicer should I buy?

Choose a household model for home use or as a gift, and a commercial model for a café, hotel, kiosk or juice bar. If you press a lot of pomegranates, look at the cast (PCA1) or Jumbo (PJ1) series.

Which Maskot juicer is best for pomegranates?

We recommend the cast commercial series (PCA1) and the Jumbo series (PJ1), although every Maskot model can press pomegranates.

What manual citrus press suits a café?

A commercial lever press. The chrome Classic commercial juicer (PC1-C3) is one of our best sellers; if you also serve pomegranate juice, we recommend the cast (PCA1) or Jumbo (PJ1) series.

Are Maskot juicers electric?

No. Every Maskot juicer is a manual lever press and needs no power supply.

How many oranges per hour can a commercial juicer press?

Pressing speed depends on the person and the fruit, so we don’t publish capacity figures. Call +90 212 435 55 85 or email [email protected] and we’ll help you pick a model for your business.

Does the finish affect juicing?

No. The chrome, gold, rose gold, sapphire, copper and coloured versions of a model share the same mechanism and the same 304 stainless food-contact parts; the finish only changes the look.
